‘L’homme des deux rives. Zao Wou-Ki collectionneur’ – Collective book
No such thing as this donation, exhibited until December 30th at the Musée de l’Hospice Saint-Roch, in Issoudun (Indre), to know more about Zao Wou-Ki (1920-2013), Chinese painter and engraver of international renown, naturalized French in 1964.
It gathers a great number of art works he exchanged during his whole life with the artist friends : Nicolas de Staël, Pierre Soulages, Hans Hartung - whom he met when arriving in Paris in 1948 – his very close friend Henri Michaux, Paul Klee whose influence was notable, Pablo Picasso, Zoran Music, etc. So many great names of modern art wonderfully put into perspective with major oil paintings by Zao Wou-Ki. It is the illustration of a fertile companionship and the opportunity to discover the privacy of a very human multicultural creator.
