The Musée Saint-Roch in Issoudun, contrary to the legend of its patron saint will not cure you from the plague, but it will not fail to quench the thirst of any contemporary art lover who will have made the effort to travel the languid countryside of the Berry region to discover it. Placed tenth in the Journal des Arts’ 2016 national classification, this museum, located in a small city, has succeeded after a few decades of a voluntary arts policy, to come up to the very first ranks of the contemporary art locations in the Centre-Val de Loire Region, the recent Zao Wou-Ki donation representing the crowning achievement of its years of intense activity between acquisitions and exhibitions.
