Like a footbridge between the East and the West, the work of Zao Wou-Ki (1920-2013), neglected for some time, has been rediscovered and arises the interest and envy of art collectors, especially Asian collectors, as evidenced by the record high price of 26 million dollars recorded by Christie’s in Hong Kong in November 2017. For its part, the Museum of Modern Art of the City of Paris pays a tribute today to the artist. His first name ‘Wou-Ki’ means ‘without limit’, and so is the case for the large formats in which he thrived and which are presented at the exhibition.
