Nouvel Observateur, « Zao Wou-Ki, le peintre spatial » by Bernard Géniès
Zao Wou-Ki (1920 – 2013) belonged to two countries. China was the country of his birth, the country where he grew up and went to the school of Fine Arts in Hangzhou. In 1948, he embarked for France, to study art, again and again. The académie de la Grande Chaumière (where he studies with Othon Friesz) and the Musée du Louvres will be the two schools he will attend.
